Event Builder - Data Analysis Stage
The data is passed between the data selection stage and the data analysis stage via shared processor memory. It is now easily possible to use simple parallel processing techniques in order to perform as complex an analysis as is required in order to further refine the data selection and to either accept or reject the event. This task may be performed within one or more processors in a multi-processor PC. For the initial system two processors will be available.
Accepted data is then formatted, buffered and passed to the data output stage of the Event Builder system.
At this point histograms would be generated using only the accepted data, which would be a useful monitoring tool. Additionally detector rate histograms would be generated in order to monitor the data selection process.
For the GREAT system the Data Analysis Stage will be a component of the Data Processor PC.
