Nuclear Physics Group

The major role of the Nuclear Physics Group is to support and contribute to the UK's Nuclear Physics research programme supported by the STFC.

 

The Nuclear Physics Group (NPG) is part of the Science Programme Unit of the Science and Technology Facilities Council. We are based at Daresbury Laboratory.

 

The NPG has specialist skills and provides expertise and co-ordination for the UK community in the areas of:

Objectives of the NPG:
To promote high quality scientific and engineering research by providing facilities and technical expertise in support of the nuclear physics research programme in line with the agreed UK/STFC strategy.
To carry out an internationally competitive research programme in nuclear physics.
To provide a focus for the UK community to utilise the broad expertise in STFC.
To provide project management and specialist skills for the UK.
