July 9 2009: The Httpd server is now based on Tcl version 8.5.7. Updates for Linux64 and addition of Solarisx86. The code now uses extensively the Tcl package management facilities and these are used to tidy up loading of OS dependent code. Configuration of the Httpd server and the plugins is now much simpler.

MIDAS Web Service core download 15 Mbytes
The MIDAS Web Service core is available for Sun Solaris (SPARC); Sun Solaris (Intel); Linux (Intel/AMD - 32 and 64 bit); Linux ( PPC - ppc405, ppc440 and ppc74xx);
Windows 7/Vista/XP/2000 and NEW Linux (Arm [ARMv5 & ARMv6] - Raspberry PI + Debian6) (not all services).
The core download includes a Hello Service and the Time Service plugins. These are useful demonstrations of the system and how you can add your own services.
A number of plugin services are available. Just select each of the services you require and download in turn. For technical reasons not all plugins are supported for all platform/OS options supported by the core. Exceptions are noted.
Software for the Virtex 4/5 (ppc405 and ppc440 uses the Linux OS made available to the Open Source Community by Xilinx.

Software for the ARM processor uses the Linux OS made available to the Open Source Community.

WARNING: Current distributions of Linux are coming with the internal firewall enabled by default which will block access to any services running within the system. In this case you will need to enable access to port 8015 which is the port used for access to the MIDAS Web Services.

Ensure that the MIDAS Web Service installation directory (default /MIDAS) is your current directory and then uncompress using tar -xzf to unpack all service distribution files you have selected.
You will create directories within the
current directory.
